My favorite character is deffinatly Arya.
Many people seem to dislike her tho. So who is your favorite character?

Also. My least favorite POV is Jon.

Yeah, I don't get why people hate Arya she is my fav character too. I am not a big fan of the Sansa chapters as she doesn't really do much and is used more for observation to advance the story. Hopefully in the next book her role will change since her situation has.

Greetings !

Well, I don't like Arya very much, simply because I can't really relate to her personality. She seems to be 'driven' by the story-telling need to establish a certain base much more than others.

The most natural characters - in my opinion, at least - are also my favorites. So these would be (in no particular order) :

Tyrion, Jaime, Tywin (yes, Tywin), Davos, Sandor, Barristan, Jorah and Theon.

I also like reading the Jon, Dany and Sansa chapters, but mainly for what's happening *around* them, than for who they are...Interestingly, these are also still quite young people, so their personalities have certainly not developed completely, and being somewhat older myself I find myself relating more to their positions in life, rather than themselves (and so I repeat myself)...

I guess I just like all those developed, older personalities with all their flaws, quirks and whatnot that seem to have arisen natrurally from what happened to them earlier in life...

Too long a post, I know, but that's my view...

I think that's why I like Arya. She is the wild card. A person becoming powerful for no discernable use. I believe she may even be the first of the Starks to meet Dany.

I really have no patience for Sansa- how are the rest of the Starks so tough "winter is coming " and Sansa so naive? She had better grow some fangs in the next book.

I enjoy Arrya -i'm not quite sure where she is headed- the ghost lady said she had a black heart, so maybe becoming an assassin is in her blood.

The Jon chapters are good, but I agree, I enjoy what goes on around him as opposed to just Jon

Jamie and Sandor are two tormented characters, whom have shifted from somewhat "evil" in nature to more sympathetic characters

Everybody love Tyrion

Davos is probably on of my favorites- a true knight and true to his king even if it means his life - i hope he lasts

Also, I really love the Reeds, (and the Crannogmen in general.) They seem really magical in a low-magic world. You can tell that they remember their roots. (First Men / Children of the Forest)

**nO0b alert**

I'm a first time poster, long time listener. Actually, that's a lie; I just found this site.

I'm not sure if he would be my hands-down favorite, but I really do enjoy Jon Snow's chapters. His chapters seem to have a dark and mysterious element, because you know that he's up against something not human. It's been pretty obvious throughout the books that some crazy shit is going to hit the fan at the Wall, and it's also a nice change from all the banter about armies, hosts, banners and the sort.

And of course, I like Tyrion. I don't think it's possible to not like him. If you didn't like him, it would make you a horrible and shallow person, who bases everything on looks and probably buys Nike shirts directly from sweatshops on eBay while eating non-dolphin friendly tuna. There's not much to not like about Tyrion. He's smart, funny, horny and brave. I used to pity him, but now I just think he's cool.

Bran bores me to tears. I've had quite enough wolf dreams from Jordan, thank you very much. Somebody give this kid some dexatrim to keep him awake.

Gotta chime in here,

With Bors completely. Screw Bran and his prophetic green dreams. We've had enough of this elsewhere. Sansa is only good for her window into the world of the court. Arya is enjoyable, although I don't emphasize with her character that much.

That being said, Daenerys/Jorah are prolly my favourite chapters/characters. Emotional, and there's always something happening.

I agree with Bors word for word about Jon, especially the great Battle for the wall - that has to be one of the best parts of the series.

And also, I'll add Jamie, as someone mentioned. Martin is flawless at changing our perception of a character, and Jamie is case in point. Plus, it's a great opportunity for some truly enjoyable humour. (Sapphireth anyone

And Bors, great to see you on the boards. We hope you'll stick around. We may seem to be in a slow period on the surface - but that's because we're building a new backend for the site. Keep coming back, it'll be worth it

I think Arya has the most potential for excitement in the future novels. I don't have a "FAVORITE" charachter, per se, but I like how Jon is becoming more and more powerful. He's the traditional fantasy "untapped young hero, coming into his own" with more emotion and pitfalls. And I hate to admit it but I hope Bran receives some nanotech gene therapy to repair his injured spinal cord, so that he can become the knight of his dreams. ehhe.

I actually quite enjoy Arya's sections. I think she's cool because she's of noble blood, yet she's not all, "Look at me, I'm of noble blood."

Can you picture Sansa doing the kind of stuff that she did? Empty chamber pots? Help the Northmen escape the dungeon? Stab a bunch of people in the face? Not a chance. Arya rules.

On a different topic, I think I also like Hodor. Not because of anything he's done yet, but I have a feeling deep in my gizzard that he's going to be the one who kills Gregor Clegane. I mean, think about it- he's almost made by GRRM to be invincible. We've already seen that stealth can't defeat him in a real battle (not counting Loras' joust with him at the King's Landing Tourney). And if GRRM wanted to somehow show us that quickness could defeat brawn, the Dornishman would have killed him at Tyrion's trial.

Ser Gregor and Hodor are going to meet up one day and Hodor is going to shave him up like a ham. If he does that, I will put him in the 'Rulin' category.

Jon- You just have to be sorry for him, but I have gone off him a bit. Tyrion is a favourite at the moment, and at first I really hated him for some reason, but now, the sorry ones get the vote for me...

My favorite character is Sandor Clegane. The man has every right to be an angry killin machine . Every single time he tries to help some one they end up spitting on him. I hope when Daenerys shows up he joins up with her, and finaly kills his brother in the field of battle.

PoV wise I would have to say I really enjoy reading Jaime, Tyrion, Jon in that order.

Ok, the hound is pretty awesome. I know he's not dead, he just can't be. Given that it's martin though, he's probably dead several times over.

And, I didn't mention it above, but I love Tyrion. You can always count on him for a laugh - not a cheesy regular fantasy joke, but actual witty statements. Very much appreciated.

Also, i still hate sansa grrrrrrr

I like Arya the best starting with the first book...Who would not love a nine year old with a sword. I liked Jon before he became the Commander of the wall. I liked Eddard before he died. I also like Brienne.
I do not like Tyrone or Cersi. His chapters lack a certain paza. She is too much of a whinny *beep*.

i wish i could go against the majority... but i can't.. Arya was my third favorite character, Rob being my first... with Kingslayer being 2nd..but with the recent or not so recent developments As in rob's dead, kingslayer hand being chopped off.. I'm must say Arya is my first interest, then kingslayer with the imp coming in third.. I sure wish there was some new news about the next book.. what i would give for the new book to be finished..
