This is a litle late for those of you that dont know its coming on, and a little early to give any reviews. Sorry.

Tonight, Sunday June 20, at 8:pm EST Salems Lot is aired (the first part of 2) as an exciting new mini series from Steven King.

I wasnt impressed when they pulled this same stunt with "The Shining" a couple years back, and I know no one that really liked "Kingdom Hospital." However, having said that, the previews look really good and the cast rocks. So Im excited, probably a bad thing, as Im now more apt to be let down.

The new cast includes:
Rob Lowe .... Ben Mears
Donald Sutherland .... Richard Straker
Rutger Hauer .... Kurt Barlow
James Cromwell .... Father Donald Callahan
Andre Braugher .... Matt Burke
Samantha Mathis .... Susan Norton
Robert Mammone .... Dr. James Cody

I love TV Guides synopsis;
"Part 1 of two. Chilling but scattershot adaptation of Stephen King's novel about a writer (Rob Lowe) who returns to his home town and unearths evil secrets. Samantha Mathis, Andre Braugher. Mikael Salomon directed. King's story was also adapted in 1979 as a TV-movie starring David Soul."

Well I wasnt really impressed with the first part, then missed the second part, not because it was that bad, but because I couldnt turn down my Mother-in-Law's Pork Chops, if you had ever had them youd know what I meant, yummmm!

The characters were empty in my opinion, I wasnt happy with the acting, the main characters were good, but the rest... blah.

This one was more of a remake than "The Shining". They changed a few things, but, in the end this one is like the shadow of the 1979 version. They didnt even bother with making a monstrous vamp master this time. He was played by Rutger Hauer.

If you want to see "Salems Lot", and havent, I suggest the old version. I found it scarier, and more entertaining.

Just my humble opinion

Awwwww damn, I can't believe I didn't see this message earlier! I wasn't all too impressed with the remake of 'The Shining' either, but it's always nice to see new takes on King's classic material.

Except for Kingdom Hospital, cause that sucked.

I really do need to catch this show when they air it again (hopefully) they will. I'm hoping it'll be great, but you've pretty well ruined my expectations Vvar (which is fine, cause you set em up in the first place).

Strangely enough, I didn't even KNOW there was an older version of The Lot out there. I will definitely give that one a shot, thanks for the tip.

Mmmmm, pork chops!

Shamir,

Check out TNT Friday at 8:p m EST.

Seeing that you didnt know about the 1979 version, jees how could you not, you dont have anything to hold this one to. You should like it, unless you try holding it to the book, and who would do that?
