A list of the top 20 adventure games of all time, i don't agree with everything in that list, but it brings some nice memories.

So if anyone of you ever called himself Guybrush for a while and hoped to be a pirate, check it out.

I think I've played EVERY single game on that list.

I make a new vow, one weighed in experience and proclaimed with my eyes open: I will not raise my scimitars except in defense: in defense of my principles, of my life, or of others who cannot defend themselves. I will not do battle to further the causes of false prophets, to further the treasures of kings, or to avenge my own injured pride.

Lucasarts made such great games.

I'm especially fond of The Monkey Island series and Grim Fandango.

Why did that genre have to die out? It had some of the best games ever!

Well, the genere didn't die down, there are still quite a number of adventure games being published. The Longest Journey is going to have a sequel soon.
Lucasarts will probably make Monkey Island 5... although they cancelled Sam & Max 2...
And The Adventure Company is releasing adventure games in high frequency.
But, it's not the leading gaming companies that make the adventure games anymore and it seems the quality is lower these days.
Or.... it might be nostalgia... maybe adventure games just used to be more fun in the days when graphics were less impressive and important... or that other games were very limited in storylines and characters....
Hard to say.
