First off, I'd like to welcome all of our returning members - it's great to have you back.

No doubt you've noticed the boards are radically different. There is of course, an excellent reason for this.

For the past few months, dragonsworn has been developing a new engine (iniquity) to address the demands of a changing web. We were dependant too long on static html pages, and a minimum of user content.

Our reasons for not switching to an existing content management system were simple - one of our hallmarks is a completely unique look, and no existing CMS could manage what we wanted with utmost flexibility.

As any of our veteran users will tell you - we're never the first to embrace new standards. When we do however, we do it with style and panache, we do it right.

As such, we're pleased to announce the first incarnation of the iniquity engine - the message module - Inspiration.

If you remember our UBB boards, then you'll notice that the current inspiration is incomparable, in terms of pure graphical appeal. Of course, these are not superficial. We're proud to provide our users with a comprehensive ranking system (over 100 levels, as opposed to UBB"s 2) a faster backend, and seamless integration with all dragonsworn sites. If you particpated in the narrow-beta, you've seen how we integrate inspiration threads into our reviews.

This is just a start. We're immensely proud to say our code is 100% original - it's lean, fast, attractive, and functional. When iniquity rolls out across all our sites, our users will enjoy a complete level of integration.

In the coming day's, we'll fully explain our ranking system. As it stands now, points are awarded on each post, based on length (with minimum's and maximum's), with extra points for new topics. In addition, in the next few weeks you'll see the ability to post poll topics, with points earned for each vote, and the option to award specific posters with points, based on the user's opinion of the post.

This is just a microcosm of our larger user system, - posting reviews on evolution, commenting on exhibition, adding sites to divination, participating in conception - all of these and more will affect a users ranking.

The benefits will be comensurate with the effort. User points can be traded in for attractive and discreet branded merchandise, staff training, and much more. Choose your alignment carefully, as all three (Divinity, Iniquity, Unaligned) evolve into true team mentalities, where the team pool of points can be spent to recruit new users, purchase moderator/administrator training for existing users, and more. Eventually, alignment vote blocks can determine the direction of dragonsworn as a whole.

I do want to take a moment to ensure our users that major decisions on dragonsworn will be based outside of user rankings - a staff majority will rule, barring an overwhelming user decision.

Finally, to add an addendum to an already length post (hey, even I need my points) - I would like to mention that Inspiration/Iniquity are by no means complete. This is a wide-beta of inspiration, and as such, you are bound to run into problems.

I encourage all of our users to report errors - as anyone who've participated can tell you, these are addressed within 24 hours. Don't stop there - post suggestions, anything you want to see. Much of the iniquity board has been built on suggestions posted years in the past. This time around, ask anybody - if you've asked for it - it has been done. I ask all of you to post your thoughts and ideas. I assure you that they will be taken into the most serious consideration - and barring objects, always acted upon.

Again, I thank you for taking the time to read this. I also thank you for supporting dragonsworn. If you're a veteran member, it's great to see you back. We've seen years together, and we'll see many more. I can happily tell you the coming ones will be vastly different from the previous ones.

If you're new to dragonsworn - we're glad to have you, and a couple years from now - you'll be reading a message like this and be nodding knowingly ;)

Thanks for your time,

Shamir Nandy
