Even though Agi worked up a strong argument about how all us fans will be shocked with RJs incredible "Evil unexpectedly wins" ending, what will happen to all the Darkfriends if the Great Lord is sealed again?

RJ's talked about how there were ages that didn't even know of the existence of the Dark One. And he's said that one of the primary reasons randlanders believe in the Creator is that the Dark One's touch is so evident in the world.

I'm not to concerned about the disposition of the light-fools, they've believed in the Creator with no direct evidence for thousands of years.

What do the Darkfriends do when there is no Great Lord? Are they societal malcontents that have found a temporary higher calling and will return to more petty screwings of the rest of the populace? Will they just go to the victor's side? Will they create a new faux dark lord? Where's the love for the darkfriends?

they will eventually die out, seeing as evil will no longer be in the world.

Well, you said it with the light friends.

No doubt the Darkfriends will continue, with low level crime, maybe some more organized stuff. They'll throw about names of the forsaken and such, maybe even assume them after a couple hundred years - and eventually people will forget about the Dark One entirely, and they'll stop being a unified group.

Or so I would imagine.

lol, it's funny Ishamael would say that the chosen's names will just be tossed around.

LLT, I don't want to get too philosophical here, but the presence of the Oath Rods from the AoL indicates to me that there was some reason people needed to make sure some OP users didn't abuse thier power. To the point that they limited the span of thier lives.

To me it seems that the only explanation is that there was crime in AoL and OP users that commited crimes were bound with the Oath Rods as a more humane punishment than death or stilling.

In other words, there is evil enough in people and I don't think that removing the Great Lord from the world ends badness in people. So what happens to them?

I think you've got a point that there can be no organization without the top teir people that there are now. But you've got to assume that with the fall of the Great Lord there shouldn't be as much concern with the ultimate evil darkfriends can bring around. Lights might see them as beyond inneffectual, stop their persecution of random people and darkfriends based on the accusation of a dark affiliation, and that it might be an easier time to be a darkfriend.

Darkfriendery may currently be based on a promise of immortality, but it is also about a lifestyle that will be easier in the chaos that will follow the last battle.
