What an amazing book! I just finished it and I wish I had twice as much to read, it was just that good.. I DO hope the next one won't take forever to be out, Martin claims he has written most of it anyway.

It's SO typical of his work.. the book ends and you're wondering about everybody's fate because everything seems to be going from bad to worse.. and you know you won't get to hear anything about them until two books later, so that's going to be years of waiting and speculating as to what has actually happened or will happen.

I won't write out any details 'cause I don't want to spoil the experience for the rest of you.. but I know that once you read it you'll be full of questions and theories like I am. So hurry up, will you?

(Martin rules... sorry, Jordan was the one who got me involved with fantasy in the first place but there's just NO comparison)

I couldn't agree with you more. Or, maybe a little less. It wasn't as intense as 'A Storm of Swords', but very satisfying none the less. I of course can't wait for aDoD, hopefully just another year.

I think the storyline with Cersei/Jaime was fantastic, and easily my favourite. The final Brienne chapters were great as well.

I especially like how Daenerys is becoming centrol to the plot as a whole - about time. All in all, amazing book, as to be expected.

ANd much more satisfying then 'Knife of Dreams'.

Cercei's and Jaime's were my favorite chapters too... You could see them as real personalities, not just as paper characters. I was amazed by the insight into Jaime's tormented soul.. excellent writing by Martin there. I was kind of bored with Brienne at first, but the last two chapters of hers more than made up for it.

I was expecting MUCH more of Arya instead of the tidbits we got. Sam the Slayer was ok, I didn't think we needed to see so much of him but you're right, he Did introduce Dany into the Westeros plot...

Sansa still remains the character I hate most.. Her chapters were practically useless..
