Any one have any theories as to how Moridin and Rand are linked, and why?
Rand surmises in KoD that when there streams of balefire touched, it created some sort of link between then. After that, Rand, Mat, and Perrin are able to see each other just when thinking about them.

I'll edit my message in the RJ wellness post so that that topic doesn't disapear from the headline.

I think that it goes back to the first 3 books when Mordin wasn't Mordin yet. And the tie is what Ishy is talking about when he says that he and Rand have always existed in competition throughout all the battles in all the ages. It is the conversation where Rand says that he never served the Dark.

If Rand is the Avatar of the Light, it seems that Ishy is the Avatar of the Dark. He is the philosopher and theologian, the only forsaken that came to the DO without malice to those around him. He is the human hand of the Dark One and Rand's eternal nemisis. He is linked to Rand as much as Mat and Perrin. They are the personifications of the balance, to me that makes Shadar Haran even more interesting because I don't see the balance for him.

I think that Ishy/Mordin's story is as compelling (from what we've seen and pieced together) as LLTs, if not more. And his impact on the last 2-3 ages (from controling the darkfriend to causing wars, and furthering the dark cause) is equal to a ta'veren's.
