Oh where Oh where can the Posters be?

RJ took you away from me!

You've gone away so I've got to post good, so I can read you baby when you check these forums.

[I can't believe I'm going to type the next part]

OOoooOOOOooooOOOOO! EuuuEEuuuuEuuueuuuooo. OOoooOOoooOOOOO! euuueeeeoooooouh.

[Hmmm... running out of lyrics]

I look at the dates on the side of the screen.

I think to myself: what can that mean?

They're long ago from the present day

I think they're dead, so what should I say.

I used to call these forums my home.

Should I post, or leave them alone?

But now they're gone even though I hold them tight. I lost my love, my friends are gone alright.

[I love the erieness of the OOooing in the real song. It fits perfectly both because of style and because of the emotional loss of the narrator, without both it wouldn't work and I think that's part of what is perfect about that lyric. Its beautiful and longing and inconsolable and rich and desolate. I don't compare myself to that narrator though.:P]

OOoooOOOOooooOOOOO! EuuuEEuuuuEuuueuuuooo. OOoooOOoooOOOOO! euuueeeeoooooouh.

Lots of words with no one to say them. I don't think there is anything to save these forums. But then, I'm a glum bastard :).

My heart is filled hate

smile... we wondered about your latest outburst..

I don't know the song, but Dalthor DID sing along.

It is not enough to conquer;
one must learn to seduce.

I've been swamped with 60 hr weeks lately (40 job and 20 self imposed job search). Because of distractions, like the hour and a half I was spending on forums a day, I wasn't making as much progress as I would like on finding more and better work. I'm an efficiency snob (I track my productivity for fun and profit) and I'm trying to be more careful about engaging in debates with Greeks until I have something that is a little more of a career than a job. I have three weeks until my self imposed birthday deadline.

The song comes from "Oh where oh where can my baby be". You can probably find the pearl jam version easily on the internet. But that isn't the original (or imo best) version. It is a classic of popular American music. It combines a lot of early rock and roll (like elvis) with blues lyrics and a crooner's voice and a oddly Christian longing and remorse. It also has one of the most distinctively nonsensical moanings in pop music (those are the OOOooos).

I've listened to a lot of music and it is my personal favorite depressing song even better than Lightning Crashes or Dwight Yokam. (I listen to country music and harder rock when I feel like laughing at momentary unhappiness or clearing out the irritating people at a bar (lol, I'm the guy with the foul mood that makes you wish jukeboxes hadn't been invented)).

Where oh where is better than that, its like sad Cake or desolate Tom Petty or Johny Cash before the movie that made him a happy singer (like the post-June's death album).

Its a great song that I ripped off because it is easy to write lyrics to, most Americans know it in the back of their heads, and I really do get sad when I think about how much fun these boards can be.

Anyway, its late and time flies (this post took 24 minutes curse you productivity).

I am around, but really busy... so I don't always check up on this place. Miss all the good times though... damn, dsworn has been around for some time. I started posting here when I was 14, I am 21 now.

You only truly lose when winning becomes more important than playing.

I have to admit, I don't cruise here as often as I should any more. I go in spurts; sometimes I'll read a bunch here, and then sometimes I'll go a few months without reading.
