Are you familiar with the author Jim Butcher? If you're not, you should be. Jim wrote the very awesome series, the Dresden Files, off which SciFi's short-lived series, the Dresden Files, was based. If you haven't read Dresden, go brain yourself for not having read Dresden, read Dresden, and return.

But I digress.

The Codex Alera is another series by Jim Butcher. Currently... 4 books in length, I believe, the story is set in an incredible fantasy world where man has learned to tame the primal forces of nature. Every man has some measure of control over the Furies present throughout nature - except our protagonist, Tavi.

... and I'd so totally write more right now, but... I'm supposed to be packing. Stupid conference. Edit this later. Blarg.

I've heard tons of good comments on the Dresden series and I've been meaning to read those books for a long time now. It's just that there are always other books than need to be read first. I'll add those to my wish-list, maybe I'll be able to pick them up when we're at the States in the summer.

I'll look into the Codex Alera books as well. It's a mile long wish-list, I might as well make it longer.
